Bits and Bites…

  Last week Saturday and yesterday, Christiaan had the opportunity to play indoor soccer with some boys from the school here against a group of Indonesian boys from the school neighbourhood.  Most of the boys are of the dominant faith so it’s a neat opportunity.  After playing against eachother, they  mixed them up into 4 teams.  We are hoping to do this once a week through the summer.

 The whole group (minus one boy who’d gone home already).  Aidan got to play the first saturday because they needed a sub due to some no-shows…

R’s dad who passed away last week was 72 years old and from the island of Serui.  Therefore, the cultural traditions of the people of that area had to be honoured following his death.  So R and her siblings did not bathe for 3 days.  On the day after the burial, they all went to the ocean and together as a group, entered the water to cleanse…

  I’ll end off this post with a photo of our float plane docked on a river in an interior village where some M’s are living.
