Bits and Bites…

I feel like it’s been a zillion years since I last posted…  Power outages and iffy internet will do that.

So school is actually done for the kids now but a couple weeks ago they had track and field day.  Some of the events are actual track events and many are of a more fun variety like the shoe toss and the hoola hoop competition.  The kids all had fun and there was a nice layer of cloud for most of the morning…

Hugo recently celebrated his birthday.  Last week actually.  We surprised him with a Kindle and a new backpack.  Seeing as you can’t just order a Kindle here, there’s always some arranging with a willing participant in order to get such goodies.  We’re always thankful to the folks who hand carry stuff from North America or Holland for us!  The Friday before Hugo’s birthday we had all the hangar guys over for supper.  I had a local lady cook the food… whew…  Most of the guys are single and the ones that were married came without their wives because they were all at a worship leader training seminar.  There was one expat couple who came, he works in the hangar, and so I had at least one woman with me…  It was neat to have them all in our home to celebrate.
