We are now situated in the beautiful Owen Sound area. We are incredibly blessed to be staying in a beautiful home situated on over 100 acres of land. It’s so quiet here! I find myself pleasantly pleased each time I observe that there are no bars on the windows and none are needed!
Last Tuesday we flew from BC to Ontario. The night before we left we were madly organizing and packing… uugghhh is all I’ve got to say about that… We had a lovely 2 weeks in BC with the Hoff family. So glad we got to spend that time with them!
Upon arrival in Ontario we were met by one of the lovely ladies from the MAF office with a van for us to use. We drove to Burlington right away where we stayed at my sister’s place. So fun to meet her little ones and reconnect with her and hubby. The next day we headed off to Toronto to the Tropical Doctor where they drew vials of blood, injected us with a little TB, and poked and prodded. Apparently we are quite healthy although we are still waiting for the results of the blood tests. After that ordeal was over, we headed downtown to the hockey hall of fame. As it was the final two hours of operation for the day, it was super quiet and there were virtually no line-ups for the interactive games. The kids also had the pleasure of seeing and touching the Stanley Cup. Super cool! After that we walked to the base of the CN tower and got tingly legs looking up at the people doing the Edge walk up at the observation deck of the tower.
The next day we went to Lake Ontario. So the kids have gottten a pretty good taste of Canadiana!
Friday we headed up to Owen Sound, taking a little detour to visit the wonderful folks at the MAF office in Guelph.
Today we celebrated Canada Day by having a bbq and then watching the fireworks at the Bay of Owen Sound. The city outdid itself and the fireworks were spectacular!
