I took a few photos by this little market I go to fairly frequently. It’s in a real clean part of town… ahem… Rambutan is in season so that’s what those red things are in front of the lady on the tarp. Kinda like a poor man’s grape… needs to be peeled of course and has a big pit in the middle. I find them a bit laborious to eat…
There’s also a photo of one of the many crosses placed in the median of the road through town.
I took the photo of the waterfall a couple weeks ago when I was up at the school doing family photos for some friends. Our family is still rather afraid of that waterfall. You can’t see from that angle but there is a smaller lower falls which is where we were at that fateful time. With all the rain that we had last month there are a lot of new scars on the mountain from landslides.
My finger can no go bandaid-less. I’m very happy. 🙂
Today was the biggest bakar batu (cooking with hot rocks in the ground) maybe ever. The talk around town was that they were slaughtering 1,000 pigs. The reason? Our new governor was inaugerated yesterday. So big party today. This new guy wants to make some big changes but he will have his hands full making it happen! I’m sure he would covet your prayers for wisdom and discernment as he takes on this new role.
